Hi, I’m Bruna. Born in Brazil, more precisely in the city of Rio de Janeiro, and living in Stockholm, Sweden, for the past 7 years, I chose Scandinavia as the place to build my family. I have always led a busy life, dancing between studies, work, and walks in the park with friends. However, it was after my pregnancy and the birth of my baby that something clicked inside me.

Navigating the changes in my post partum body made me feel a deep need to rediscover myself. I have always loved waking up and dressing up for the day, but with a baby boy at home, time for myself became shorter than ever. I needed practicality: clothes that were comfortable, elegant, and effortlessly mix and matchable. Pieces that could take me from a Pilates class straight to the grocery store.

That is why I decided to create my own fitness clothing brand. I wanted pieces where I could feel confident and chic, easily transitioning between the workouts that were essential for my body's recovery and the park walks pushing a stroller.

And where does the name MARA come from? Well, that’s our favorite part. During my pregnancy, my husband and I were absolutely in love with the name Mara and fully planned on naming our baby that. To our beautiful surprise, we welcomed a baby boy! That name, full of love and expectation, stayed close to our hearts. So, when it came time to bring this business dream to life, we couldn't think of any other name. The dream that started as a child became our brand.

Our first collection was carefully curated in neutral, easy to combine tones, designed specifically for the woman with a hectic routine. For you who are a mother, a wife, a business owner, a worker, or a student, and who needs to look put together and feel comfortable in any situation.

We don't preach that you should wear the same sweaty workout clothes all day long, not at all! But we truly understand that on some days, if we don't wake up already dressed and ready for our workout, we end up putting our self-care aside. MARA is here to make sure you are always ready.
